Translation of text

The cultural richness of Argentina, embodied by the spirited streets of Buenos Aires, has sparked a passion for movement in the hearts of many worldwide. This was certainly not lost on Diego when he moved to the city at age of 27. The painter and sculptor from La Plata, who was acquainted with color and form at age of 7, began to be inspired by the downtown neighborhoods of Buenos Aires and its stories of great joys and failure. There, he created his first series of home interiors, "portraits” of furniture, train wagons and cityscapes. In 1999 his work quickly caught the attention of collectors and enthusiasts in Europe and the USA. He has continued to develop new series, such as "Gente" (People), "Tango" and "Soccer", which are inspired by popular Argentinean themes and forms. Later with his work taking a more self-referential turn, he started the series "abstract", "Pop-surrealist".
