En esta obra, Diego Manuel desplaza la figura hacia un espacio construido, donde el cuerpo y el entorno quedan atrapados en una relación de tensión. La escena, aparentemente estable, se vuelve inestable a partir de leves desajustes: la duplicación del rostro, la rigidez de la postura, la geometría cerrada que encuadra y limita.

La figura no se presenta como retrato sino como construcción. El cuerpo se organiza en planos simplificados, atravesados por un color que oscila entre lo sensible y lo artificial, evitando cualquier lectura naturalista. La identidad aparece fragmentada, como si múltiples estados coexistieran en una misma presencia.

El espacio —definido por líneas duras y campos de color— actúa más como estructura que como contexto, intensificando la sensación de encierro y concentración.

In this work, Diego Manuel situates the figure within a constructed space, where body and environment are held in tension. The scene, seemingly stable, becomes unsettled through subtle displacements: the doubled face, the rigidity of the pose, and the enclosed geometry that frames and confines.

The figure is not presented as a portrait but as a construction. The body is organized into simplified planes, articulated through a palette that oscillates between the sensuous and the artificial, resisting naturalistic reading. Identity appears fragmented, as if multiple states coexist within a single presence.

The space—defined by sharp lines and color fields—functions less as context and more as structure, intensifying a sense of enclosure and concentration.
